Semaphoria was commissioned by Barking & Dagenham council during the first covid-19 lockdown. The commission was for a series of posters from various artists to be delivered to residents of the borough, raising awareness about safeguarding.
I took the space of the poster and turned it into a semaphore-inspired game, in which residents placed the flags in different formations in their window to ask different creative challenges from their neighbours.

To this day, I’m not sure if anyone ever played this game, or even received the materials to play it. I’ll try again next time we have a pandemic.
